"This is L.A." by The Briggs (lyrics)

The season is 3/4 over, the Kings have 11 games left in the regular season, after last night's 3:0 win over the Wild they sit in 4th place in the Conference, 7th in the League, and 2nd in the Division. I am optimistic, and yet I am still a fatalistic Kings fan. I won't relax until they clinch a playoff spot -- the Western Conference is too close to take anything for granted.

On a hockey-related note, on Wednesday my friend, Eileen, and I went to the Taste of the South Bay charity event, which was an event showcasing 8 South Bay restaurants and which benefited Kings Care. Several Kings players were in attendance, including Dustin Brown, Dwight King, Jordan Nolan, Jake Muzzin, Brad Richardson, Kyle Clifford, Matt Greene, Jarret Stoll, and, my favorite player, Dustin Penner.

Funny story: As many of you know, I do a lot of self-portraits. When I took a photo with Penner, I checked to make sure I got us both in the frame. What I didn't know was that Penner had leaned forward and was looking over my shoulder to see the picture. When I saw that the picture was good, I whipped around and put the camera in front of where I thought his face would be. Luckily he has quick reflexes and stood up straight. Yes, I nearly bashed the man in the face with my camera. Ooops.
